Guarantees

We offer a 10-year guarantee, with a back-up guarantee which covers the Client in the event of insolvency of the Contractor. The guarantee was set up by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and the Insolvency Guarantee by a Leading Insurance Company, setting out strict guidelines, stipulating that the materials and works must comply with a British Standard Code of Practice.

Why?

Many contractors will be happy to guarantee their work against defects in workmanship or materials for between one to 10 years, which is the period often given by home improvement companies such as glaziers and roofers. If a fault arises in the works, the contractor would normally honour his responsibilities by attending to the fault at no cost to you. However, what if that contractor has gone out of business and is unable to attend? There is no guarantee that any contractor will still be around years later to honour their guarantee to you.

What happens if I do not have Insurance Backing?
Ideally, your chosen contractor will always be there to respond to any problems that may arise over the next 10 years and he would remedy the work. However, experience shows that many contractors will fail for several reasons, prinicipally financial failure. If you do not have an Insurance Backed Guarantee then you may incur substantial costs in the future if faults occur in the works.

Our Insurance Backed Guarantees are provided through Quality Assured National Warranties (QANW). QANW have been the leading UK provider of Insurance Backed Guarantees for over a decade and during that time have forged strong relationships with the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) and it’s Members.

Working together, NFRC and QANW have been able to arrange a scheme that meets the warranty criteria set down by TrustMark, which can be utilised easily by NFRC TrustMark registered firms. This scheme allows the registered firm to choose either the Give or Offer Scheme and includes free Work in Progress cover, provided by NFRC.
